Intuition and Feeling in the Japanese Garden Tradition
Shishu is video/DVD of approximately 55 minutes offering an elegant and poetic study of the Japanese garden. Filmed in many of the most beautiful gardens, some of which not readily accessible to visitors, it is an opportunity to gain a profound insight into this ancient garden tradition.
Whilst portraying the historical development of the gardens, the film also features an interview with Yasuo Kitayama, one of Kyoto’s leading contemporary garden masters and comment by Marc Keane, author and university lecturer.
Robert Ketchell, author and garden expert who was trained in Japan and spent the last 20 years absorbed and beguiled by the profound beauty of the Japanese garden, produced the film.
